February 2018 Goals

Welcome, February! I’m finally feeling like I’m back in my groove. I’ll admit, January was a bit of a lazy month for me. We had several snow days and I needed to recharge after a hectic holiday season. I’m excited to welcome a new month and I’m ready to get down to business. I’m really excited to plan out and tackle my February goals.

Let’s first check-in with January’s goals:

1. Blog Goals

I’ve been writing, editing and photographing a ton of stuff. I’m really excited to share with you all everything I have ready to share in the next couple months. The several snow days I had let me have some extra time to sit down and really plug away and it felt great to get back into the blogger life.

January 2018 Goals

2. SELF LOVE

It took me a couple weeks to get into the spirit, but I’ve pushed through full speed ahead since. I joined Weight Watchers, have been working out and taking time for myself. It’s felt amazing.

3. Routines for my toddler

We’ve definitely been working on this. I’ve started to be much more consistent with our bedtime routine and it’s made our lives a bit more peaceful. Mornings are still a mish-mash though because he’s often staying home with my husband instead of going to Grammy’s daycare. So they get to be lazybones and sleep in and hang out all day.

4. Attic Organization

I totally failed at this goal — haven’t even attempted it. It was blistering cold here for several weeks and our attic is not heated so I didn’t get up there. Also, I was lazy and didn’t want to be climbing up the extra flight of stairs. I mean, I JUST took down and packed up all our holiday decor. Ha, I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that. I’m definitely planning on tackling this endeavor over the next month or two.

5. Home Decor

I’m slowly, but surely getting my home decor style put together and realized in our home. It’s been amazing to have my husband really step up and get things done so I can come in and decorate. This is definitely an on-going project.

February Goals

1. Blog Goals

I’d really love to continue the momentum with getting content ready to share. It makes it so much easier when all I have to do is a quick edit to publish every week. I’m not quite ready to have everything on auto-pilot, but I think I’ll definitely be there in a few months. I also REALLY need to finally get an e-product or printables or something going. I have a huge list of things, it’s just a matter of biting the bullet and doing it.

2. Downstairs Playroom Design

Now that our Christmas tree if finally gone, I’m going to convert our foyer into a small playroom area for my son. It’s a perfect location because I can see him from the living room, and hear him from anywhere else downstairs. It will hopefully keep his toys contained to his own space and be easier to tidy up. I have a lot of ideas, so it will just be a matter of making decisions and setting it up. I can’t wait for the finished product!

3. Start Garden Planning

We didn’t do our best job on our vegetable garden last year, so I’d really love to have a better game plan for this year. We have plenty of land to have a nice, large and plentiful garden, it’s just a matter of mapping it out accordingly. I can’t wait to start the seeds project with the kiddos this year, I think it’ll be a lot of fun for my toddler being involved. I’d also love to get some cut-flower garden rows started to have pretty flowers all spring and summer without leaving my flower beds in the front of the house bare. So, it’ll be a matter of perusing some seed magazines and seeing what I can come up with.

4. Family Fitness

I’ve been working out solo but I’d really love to get the whole family involved. We have an old Wii at my mom’s that I’d like to hook up and do the Just Dance and Zumba games. I know the kids would love it, and I’d keep myself even more accountable when they’re wanting to do the activity on a regular basis. Also, once the weather gets better I want to get back to our neighborhood walks.

5. Paper Purge

Ever since we moved the first time in 2016 I feel like we’ve been drowning in mail and paperwork that I haven’t found a home for quite yet. We really need to gather up everything from all the corners of our home and sit down and go through all the paper and sort it all out. I’d like to set up an ‘office’ of sorts in our large dining room to better tackle this task on the day-to-day basis once this major overhaul is done.

    Such a great idea to set goals again in February. I so often fall off my bandwagon after January.

    Great goals you have. I really need to finish unpacking from my love. One box a day should get it done by the end of Feb.

      To be completely honest, I still have boxes to unpack and go through from our move over a year ago!

    Great job on your January goals! I’m still focusing on eating healthier and getting more active. I’m ready for warmer days though because then I can just go out and take a walk. For now, I’m trying to find other things to do that will get me up and moving!! I also need to get more ahead on blog things. It definitely helps!

      I’ve been “walking” (marching in place) while watching shows like Big Little Lies and This Is Us, makes it easier to get in the exercise. I used to do Walk Away the Pounds DVDs and might start those back up until we can get outside more.

    I need to do a monthly goal post to make sure I stay on track. I’ve been doing pretty good with posting once a week, but I need to get ahead of my posts so I don’t have to drop everything to write something at the last minute. My goal is to have multiple posts ready to go by the time I finish my first year of blogging(March 12th.) I’m currently at zero, but I’ll get there.

    I actually am still on track for my resolution, mine is continence on last year. Drink more work and keep working hard on my blog. I have set a goal for me to allow myself the weekend off every other weekend.

    I love how you have made month to month goals! after January it’s hard to keep things in perspective of what we want to accomplish! I am still working on the toddler routine with you sis! Also I love the family fitness idea! doing it together makes it more fun! Good luck this month!

    I love establishing monthly goals (along with daily and weekly). It keeps me from getting side-tracked which is a plus 🙂 I’m a huge fan of Todd Herman’s 90 Day Year – I have seen such an improvement in my motivation and focus!
