November Goals

November 9, 2017

So I’m a bit behind this month in getting my November goals post figured out. I’ve honestly just been in a blogging funk the last couple weeks. Posts have been sporadic, but I have been working behind the scenes on some new and exciting stuff, and I can’t wait to share it all with you!

First, a recap of my October goals:

1. Blog Goals

I reached 500 likes on my facebook page! If you want to help me grow that number even more — CLICK HERE! Thank you!

I’m just shy of the 75 subscribers I hoped for — the current tally is 64 I believe. I do have a draft of my first ever newsletter ready and plan to get that out to all of you by this weekend! It’s so exciting for me, and once I got it all set up I started to wonder why it took me so long to get to this point. Oh well, I’m happy to finally be getting this up and running.

October Goals

2. Meal Planning

I’ve actually done pretty good on this goal. We’ve sat down as a family and chosen what we’d like for dinner for the upcoming weeks and have shopped accordingly. It’s made my life a whole lot easier. There’s still room for improvement, and I’m hoping to dive into bulk shopping to make it even easier.

3. Winterizing our Front Porch

I did not get to this goal. October was unseasonably warm for us so I held off on closing it in. However, with yesterday’s first dusting of snow and below average temps coming this weekend — I have no choice but to get this done this weekend.

4. Master Closet

This project is still on the back burner. Expecting to get this done in October was a bit too optimistic, since two weekends were lost due to our vacation. But, the room is cleared out and I’ve been pinning up a dream board, so I’m sure now that my husband’s work is slowing down we’ll be breaking ground soon.

5. Enjoy Vacation

This was an easy goal. Vacation was amazing. Check out the post I made about why you should take your next vacation to OBX here.

November Goals

1. Blog Goals

Let’s aim for 100 email subscribers! I’m hoping my first newsletter and upcoming subscriber exclusive content will help me build my list. I plan on offering some free content for specific things like holiday/season printables, craft ideas or essential oil info.

Something else I need to work on is all my affiliate stuff. I’ve been accepted in a number of groups and such, but just haven’t sat down and really hashed out particulars and got solid ideas/posts set up to take advantage.

2. Interior House Painting

My husband is responsible for painting all the rooms in our new home. We’ve picked out a few colors so now it’s just up to him to get it done. I’m SUPER excited for this. We were lucky enough that our home was already pretty neutrally painted upon move-in so I didn’t feel an urgency to change it.

3. Master Closet

And I mind as well add this project to my goals yet again. I really want to get this up and running soon so it’ll be a breeze to organize my clothes and accessories. We have the time now so I’m hoping in between painting my husband can help me install the organizing system we have and my dream closet will be a reality. I’m so tired of living out of baskets/bins.

4. Cleaning Schedule

This is something I REALLY need to get a handle on. Our previous home in VT was half the size of our new one, so upkeep was much more simple. I need to devise a weekly/monthly/seasonal plan and stick with it. Now that we’ve been in our home for about a year and all the seasons, it’s easier for me get this plan figured out since I know what exactly we should be doing and when. One major thing is our open field we have — it’s about an acre I think and desperately needs to be mowed, so that’s first on the list is finding someone to do that for us since we don’t have a tractor or anything capable of a job like that.

5. 2018 Planner

I need to get my planner setup for next year. Last year’s move kind of set me up for failure with living out of boxes for several weeks and then being a single mom while my husband was out of the country last winter. I just never set time aside to set up my planner properly and pretty much winged it this year. Now that my son is much more into independent play, I know I’ll have some spare time to get it all pretty with stickers and such and make good use of all the bells and whistles it offers.

I use the Erin Condren Life Planner and just absolutely love it. I’ve cultivated a collection of covers over the years that I change throughout the year and I just love the versatility and all the extras that come with it. So there they are. I’m hoping the upcoming holiday season isn’t too stressful and doesn’t throw a wrench in our plans and goals. To think that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away kind of scares me, because then Christmas comes on fast and it’s always such a blur. I’m not sure I’m quite ready for 2018!

What are some of your November goals?

Great job on the October goals you were able to hit! That’s awesome. I need to get myself a 2018 planner. I used the one from Michael’s this past year and I really love it. I’m actually having a planner hop in the beginning of December if you want to join in (details are a few posts down on my blog) – you can do a review, just thoughts about planning, and/or a giveaway! It’s pretty easy. I just love seeing how people use their planners!!

Good luck with all of your November goals! I’m hoping to keep my water intake up, and lose a few months with all these holidays around. haha

Congrats on reaching the goals you did reach! I think it is awesome you set goals each month. We really need to winterize our house too. We too went from unseasonably warm temperatures to very cold temperatures with snow within just a couple of weeks. That is on my to-do list for the weekend as well!

We were definitely spoiled this fall with the warmer than usual weather, but I do love the coziness of the colder months ahead.

These are really great goals. It seems like October was a pretty successful month!
I am also working to better organize our home, ordering a planner and getting it set up for 2018 and create some sort of cleaning routine/schedule for our family. We are expecting our second baby in early February, so I really want to get some of these organization things done before then!

Aww congrats! I feel like it’s a never ending battle keeping our home nice & tidy, my toddler seriously is a tornado!

Awesome job on the October goals! I really need to set some clear cut goals for myself for November and actually right them down so I can visualize them.

    • Reply Marie November 11, 2017 at 1:50 pm

Do it! I’ve felt like putting them out there has been so much more motivating for me.

I too have tried to start making a list for dinner shopping. Planning it out also keeps me from onercspending in my budget. I like that you are sharing your monthly goal list. I find writing them down and sharing them helps you stay more focused and get them done. Great job!!

    • Reply Marie November 11, 2017 at 8:00 pm

      Yes definitely keeps me accountable!

Okay I love this idea! First, I NEED to be organized and everything must be written down. I love being able to check off everything I was able to accomplish (even household chores lol)! Way to go on October! My goal for November is to start posting at LEAST twice a week but I know I need to do it more often. Currently only doing my Monday inspirational post.

This reminds me I’ve been putting off organizing my closet… it seems daunting but I know that it will be worth it when I do it! Thanks for the reminder 🙂
